The Hippie Hippie Hook

So I thought I would share something a bit different with you all today. One of the loveliest things about having the café section of the shop is the way people from all walks of life come together — sharing conversations, experiences, and the most unexpected skills. We’ve got people who are brilliant at art, photography, crafting… but one thing that has really taken off lately is crochet.

Some of the creations (as you can see) are absolutely out of this world. And the best part? Just like everything in Hippie at Heart, every piece is completely unique.

What started as one lady quietly crocheting a blanket in the corner has now grown into a whole group of people — all with the same shared passion — stitching away, chatting, laughing, and creating lifelong friendships. The energy is beautiful. The ladies and gents are always happy to help anyone who wants to learn, and we even have both a left‑hand and right‑hand expert on hand to guide beginners.

This little crochet community is growing stronger every week, and it’s such an honour to know that it all happens right here in our cosy, colourful, slightly magical hippie shop in Stoke.
